Jessica Roitman Reflects On The Perspecrtives Class

Q: What have you done to change your school?
A: I have educated younger children and promoted better recycling, and tried to tell more parents/blog viewers to make better choices (recycling wise…).
Q: What have you learned?
A: I have learned how to recycle better, and make use of trash, also how to effectively educate people.
Q: Where do we still need to improve as a school?
A: We could probably turn to a higher lever of recycled paper (100%), turn off almost all lights, and try to recycle more…(We are doing good, but we could do better)

LD Reflects on the Perspectives Class

1. What have you done to change your school?
What i have done to change my school is that i have educated all of the people at my school that have met me. I have found the top then websites for our blog and have helped all the people in our perspectives class. My friends and i have writen a skit about global warming and the effects of it and presented it to the lower grades at our school. We have also writen a skit about recycling and what you could do to help it.

2. What have you learned?
What i have learned is that paper is one of the most recyclable things wasted. I have also learned that if you don’t recycle, all the recyclable items just sit in a landfill and rot and pollute the earth. I have also learned that if you put things that can’t be recycled in the recycle bin people have to sort through all of that and put it where it belongs.

3. Where do we still need to improve as a school?
Where we need to still improve as a school is our recycling program. We have started one but we need more help. Where we also need to improve is more recycle posters at school. We have a couple of posters but we could still use a little more.

MH Reflects on the Perspectives Class

1. What have you done to change your school?
I have visited the fourth graders to talk to them about recycling at our school. JM and I visited them and gave them an activity that educated them about what you can and cannot recycle at our school. The winner of this activity gains a piece of candy.
2. What have you learned?
I have learned that you can recycle sertain objects that before this class I believed that you were forced to throw away.
3. Where do we still need to improve as a school?
As a school we need to focus even more than we are on recycling because it is not getting through to alot of people and by educating younger children they will learn at a young age to recycle.

Top Ten Websites to help recycling

In this graph, there is 33% wasted paper. If you want to save the enviroment, here are some ways according to this graph shown above:

Paper (33%) can be recycled

Food (6%), Yard trimmings (23%) could be composted (if you have a compost “bucket”)

Plastics (9%), Glass (7 %), Metals (9%) can all be put in the recycling bin (it’s not that hard, 2 steps away…) and if you don’t have a recylcing bin, your city will give one to you for free.

Other (13%), depending on what it is, could in some way, be recycled, or help the enviroment insted of disenegrate it.
